  6. i am trying to make these but i am having trouble with the pattern. i do not understand how to make the ankle straps. it says for left ankle, ch 5 and fasten off, then join yarn to other side for slip stitch? what exactly do you mean by "other side"? then when you say to make the vamps, ch 10 and hdc in third ch and then fo ? in the picture it looks like they are hdc all the way across? it looks like the straps are more than just a chain. I am just really confused! please help! they are so cute and i really want to make a couple of pairs, i have three pregnant friends! thanks so much!

  9. Did you know this page was on the TLC show "19 Kids and Counting" entitled "Josie Duggar's First Shoes"? It aired today, April 20th. I saw the coming attractions and as a knitter I was intrigued! I saw the booties, Googled the name and found your blog! Check it out. I'm sure it'll be re-played all week!

  15. Sorry for the confusion, I'll have to dig out my crochet hooks && rework it so I can explain it in a way that makes sense. lol. --We just moved.-- But I'll have that up as soon as possible. Sorry for the delay in response, everyone!

But oh wow! That's so neat!! The Duggars, huh? I'll have to go check that out.

  16. Okay so the ankle strap is a continuation from the heel.
When you finish the heel do NOT fasten off until instructed to do so.
After chaining you fasten off, then rejoin yarn to the other side of the heel using a slip stitch.

As for the vamps, if you think they'd be better using half-double crochet all the way across, I'd try it out :] But the way the pattern is written is how I worked it.

  17. hi, Iv just started with the sole..n im confused right at the beginning, In round one...it says chain 8, then SC in 2nd chain followed by SC in next 5 chains..and then 6 SC in same chain which is the last one...and wen i turn to the other side the confusion begins from there...it says SC 5 chains...and then suddenly 2SC in last chain...what abt the rest of the stiches in between, we should skip those?? and when i start the second round...the pattern is for 20 stiches...where as after first round I have only 7 stiches to work wid :s...I think Im going wrong in the first round...would please correct me?

  18. I made a pair because at first glance they looked different. Once I completed these I realized a lot was different than I thought it was, so I looked at the picture again and it was correct, I had just misjudged the picture...lol. I didn't like how they turned out, more suited for my daughters american girl doll...so still useful. lol. My daughter loves you right now. lol
